Hotel Ibis Paris Gare du Nord Chateau Landon 10ème, France

The Ibis Hotel is only about 5 minutes walk from the Gard Du Nord Station. We would say it is quite easy to find. Google maps comes in handy! It is also very close to the Metro Station which takes you to all the sights with less than 30 mins.

Price

The price was ok for what we got, there are cheaper places in Paris, but also there are more expensive options. This hotel I would say it mid range, and was the right price for us. We purchased the ticket through lastminute.com, so the price included the train and accommodation for 1 night. It is very close to Gard Du Nord, but also a couple minutes walk to the closest Metro Station which was Louis Blanc, so the hotel is in the ideal location to be out of the hustle and bustle but quick and easy to get to the sights. Breakfast was not included so had to pay and additional 15 Euro per person, for a continental buffet breakfast. As this is the most important meal of the day, we felt this should be suffice to keep us going for most of the day. There is a small selection of food, from bread, cheese and hams, too boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt and croissants. With buffet food, it was all you can eat, so the price is reasonable for what you get along with how much food you eat. The dining area, is of large space, with tea, coffee, and juice facilities.

Reliability

This is a good hotel to stay in, with check in quite quick and easy. The negative with check in was that we had to wait for 10 minutes for our room to be ready, which they seemed to have forgot about us, and after about 15 minutes of waiting, we went back to the counter to check in. In reality however, 15 minutes really isn't long to be waiting. We then headed up to the room, a great feature which made us feel a little secure, was that the lifts could only be used by the room key, and with no stairs, this would be the only way guests can get around the hotel, and someone from outside could not gain entry. Once we found our room, it was small but compact. The room held a bed, and bedside table, and a stall, with a desk and chair. The TV hung on the wall, with a small cupboard to store jackets and luggage. The room is clean and tidy. The bathroom again is small, with the amenities of a bath with a shower and sink and toilet. This is also clean and tidy. As we are only in the room for sleeping, then this is perfect place to stay on a short trip. There is a negative, which is there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, or even a kettle. So it is either having it at breakfast, or going out to buy a cup of tea of coffee which can be a bit inconvenient. Checking out of the room was quick and easy, but the latest check out was at 1pm, yet our train wasn't until 8pm, so had to find somewhere to store the luggage. The benefit here is in the basement of the hotel, there are lockers to store the luggage. For a couple of Euros to hold for up to 24 hours is perfect, and found this is a great asset to have in a hotel. Couple hours later, we returned to collect our luggage without a problem. There is also a small bar, should you wish to relax outside of the room with a drink. The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and speak good English. We would like to return to Paris again, to spend longer in the city, and would stay at the hotel again.

Overall the hotel was a great stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone, and would definitely use them again when we visit Paris again.
